Lauren Anderson, former-Prima Ballerina with the Houston Ballet

The very first African-American Prima Ballerina with a major American ballet company, Lauren Anderson danced with Houston Ballet from 1983 to 2006.

She performed leading roles in all the great classical ballets and toured the world to great acclaim.

In 2016, she was awarded a permanent exhibit at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C.

VOTE FOR THE GOAT

Written and Directed by Tim Fried-Fiori

Want to explain democracy to kids? This film makes it easy and fun! Billy Goat learns all about democracy when he tries to convince every animal in the petting zoo to vote to keep it open. A great introduction for kids about the power of voting and how elections can come down to one single vote – YOURS!  Helps kids understand why voting matters and why their particpation is so important to the civic life of their school, community, city, state and nation.

A magical journey through the Holiday Classics. Short, kid-friendly versions of Night Before Christmas, A Christmas Carol and the 12 Days of Christmas, plus singalongs of Jingle Bells in several languages, including American Sign Language. 40 minutes of fun, laughter and learning for the whole family, even the Humbugs!
